Thats's definitely a good move. A lot of the time if an aro is in a smaller tank they tend to jump more...especially when spooked. When they try to make their getaway, and they realize they don't have a lot of open swimming space...they head for the sky. :WHOA:
 
all aros are jumpers... i've never heard of an aro tat doesn't jump...
 
so i guess the ultimate question i shud ask u guys is whether u would risk putting a jardini in an open pond. judging by my pond measurements....
