i will get the size later.. have to read it off the box.. i am planning to add only one oscar and one red devil... they get along together great so i think the three will do well.. after i have CK in awhile to get him use to the change.. then i will free up two 75gal.. tanks ..cannot get dimentions .. box is out in garbage ..but it is a 125gal.

my Ck took about a year to get from 4 inches to about 11 or 12 inches he is now.. i feed him frozen shrimp and frozen silversides and hikari pellets and he loves Azoo arow pellets..He may grow even faster now with more room..

WHO IS IN THE TANK WITH HIM? What size tank.. i have one advantage that helped me alot.. i kept him by himself all this time and trained him to eat out of my fingers.. he was on guppys when i got him and i quickly got him off feeders.. do you do frequent water changes.. CK's have a very big appetite .. i never over feed though.. then that would be as bad as feeding too little. How much does yours eat..does he hide alot or is he out alot.. mine is out when ever i am around.. thats why i have to let him get comfortable in the new tank and then add the others.. does your guy look healthy.. act healthy..

no future plan on CK breeding.. i do not think anyone has bred in the aquarium a CK..usually two CK will not be okay in one tank..but there are a few people with very large tanks that are doing two together okay..

We are getting there.. after a few days cycling we should be ready for the big move..:DHow do you think he will be with company of these two guys:should i worry .. the O and RD get along great.. but will the O go for the knife?? I have heard stories that they do....i am getting a wee bit nervous..because i really want this to work for the three of them..

Just one more big tank ..about 220gal in its own room.. for CK next year.. other then that we are at a max.. we have pond outside that we built for goldfish 8 years old now..but they come in every winter into tub pond.. yes alot of people are totally dedicated and you are one of them.. the future is on its way for you!

Hi Liz i know the RD and O get on fine now but i would really keep an eye on things especially if you move them to the CK tank, my oscars used to fight with my RCK quite a bit and he used to defend his cave from them but the only time he would come out was at feeding time,now he lives with other oddballs in a new tank and seems much happier, watch that RD though as mine got nastier as he grew and your knife wouldn't stand much chance if he decided he needed more space,i'm not trying to tell you what to do just letting you know of my experiences so no one gets hurt,all the best Paul

You do not have to worry and neither do i.. i decided to put 4 severums with my knife instead..something just told me the oscar and red devil combination would be too scary..and Ck's are timid types so i decided not to do it.. and the severums and ck are absolutely great together so it all worked out great!! Thank you for your info as it is a good warning to others..:D

I got a BGK a couple weeks ago cuz my girlfriend thinks they're cute (he's my favorite now too) but I strategically neglected to tell her they can get 20" long. . . down the road that's gonna be my excuse for building a really big tank.

i think the trick is leaving them in a species only tank until they are at least 10 inches..while mine was in the species tank i taught it to eat all kinds of foods ..even from my fingers.. they are predetors by nature but they are also timid so before i introduced him to any other fish i got him healthy and self confindent.. and then he was pissed when he saw others in his new tank.. he felt like he was king but had to come down to reality level.. and all is well..thank you for your kind words..
