Ropefish size

Just wondering how big ropefish get, and whats the biggest anyone on here has ever seen or owned?

they dont get very big but they are long as hell for a fish, lol.

if i remember right they only get around 20-24 inches in captivity... they get much larger in the wild.

plus they stay really thin and are really flexible... so you dont even need a monster tank to keep them in really

18-24 inches in captivity is common but as they stay fairly thin about the diameter of your index finger-Anne

They've been documented at almost 3 feet, but not sure how likely they are to hit that in captivity.

My biggest one is around 15 inches and he's thick compared to what you normally see at fish stores, but they stay very thin and snakelike. They seem to be really slow growers, I haven't noticed much growth in any of mine over several months. My biggest one has grown maybe an inch over 8-9 months.
