I asked RiverWonders to send me a pic of their Armatus in stock. My question is... has anyone seen this pic before or is it a new pic from what they realy have. I just want to make sure I am getting an Armatus for the price im paying.

It is in fact an armatus...i obtained one from RW as well, as did a few other members here...

Yep, armatus. I ordered one and that shipped it pretty much across the country in tip top shape! RW ROCKS!
$200+ is steep (to me any way) for a fish but these guys are WORTH IT!
Around what size did your Armatus come in at?

Mine was about 4.5"
Check out my thread " FINALLY: HYDROLYCUS ARMATUS" in the photo lounge.
I believe they are in L.A. so perhaps (Im not sure) you could ask if you could pick it out your self and take it home! If you have that opportunity to do that, the tank, and the money you would be a fool if you dont!

I just got mine and it seems to be closer to 5"-6"

That was funny. Are these guys realy active swimmers? How big is the largest Armatus reported in a home aquarium?

I wouldn't call them active. They go from spot to spot and hover around for a while and then go somewhere else. I think it is around 24''

did u check out the vid in the pic lounge? that is a 10 foot long tank, so u can get an idea how big he is.
