Magnum issues

I have a H.O.T. magnum hang on filter on my 75 gal with an fx405,the magnum has the paper filter in it my tank is planted and full of fish(see sig).my fluval does my main filtering and the magnum supports it ,well the magnum gets clog like every 4-5 days.Yes i know paper filter but is there anything i can use to polish but not clog so quickly?:popcorn:
 
you dont have to polish everyday...
 
Put a prefilter on the intake.
 
If you have that much material waste in your tank, you need the magnum. Buy three micron cartridges, and recharge two at a time.
 
why don't u use the other media that goes with magnum the one that holds carbon check out ur petsmart or petco they have one for it that's the one I use for magnum filters if ever I use the one for polishing I just use it for a while but right now haven't been using it for the longest time.
 
I would use the carbon container with a blue filter sleeve over it. The micron cartridge is for short uses only. I would look into other reasons your tank is so cloudy.
