OMG!! Grif, he is enormous!!! Mine is growing really fast too. I think he's about 22" now. SAL's are so cute. I'm jealous..lol. I don't have a digicam, but i have a scanner so as soon as i get my film developed I'll add some pics. His pond is getting there, I'm kinda broke and buying what i can find a bit at a time.... but it shouldn't take too long cause i try to make it a priority. For now he is in an 80g.

I am REALLY interested in keeping lungfish.
I wanted to get a south american at first, but then i saw KenyanSand's lung..and now GriF's.
What is "tier"?
Do even the big ones swim like GriF's? And what's the best substrate? or can I go with barebottom?

I always liked bare bottom...i think it's easyer to clean.
it's more easy to spot leftovers (food), everytime I find a turd of leftovers in there I scoop it out with a net.
But I think the fish do like substrate more than bare bottom.
p.s. regarding the swimming..... I think it depends on the fish itself, some swim more than others.

agressive...YES.
Minimum tank..the bigger the better.
but you can keep one in a 4 x 2 x 2 ft tank for a while.
but bigger is better...better for the fish and more fun to watch.

Agressive to their keepers? Or just anything that'll fit in their mouth?
My fiance saw them and thinks he may want to get one someday. lol
