Good luck adding all of them at once. I hope you have some extra bacteria and a quarantine tank:)
50 loaches? That's too many. Too many that didn't end up in my tank.

its a dual tank setup, they will all be in a 108gallon 70x24x16 untill i move them into the 360.
theres a 108g and a 180 hooked up to the filter. and when i add the loaches to the 108 i will be takeing half the media out of my 360 gallons w/d and be putting that into the 180 and as mush as i can into the other w/d. I have a pic some where on here of the filter thats hooked up, its more than enough media to handle that.
i have an extra canister filter i could hook up to, along with 5 sponge filters. I planned this out :)
I also have a shippment of datnoids comming in.

At that size I would definately recommend a UV. When I first put my 100 clown loaches together at that size they did good for about a couple weeks but still got ich. My water temp was at 86 and still no help. I added a 15w UV and it helped tremendously. I love when huge numbers of loaches school and dart in the same direction.

I've lost more fish in the short time of using UV than the long time that I never used it. Coincidence? maybe....but my UV stays off lol.
thanks, hope i dont need it though
You need it with such a large order.:nilly: Hope every single clown is going to be okay.:headbang2

I'd put half in the 108 and half in the 180 or at least split them up some kind of way.

I believe ewurm feeds them still on the shell to his loaches. is there anything i should feed them to fatten them up or make the grow faster? I was thinking about soaking the food in some vita chem but what else?

Have you checked out ewurm's blog?? He says seafood is a good food to bulk them up. Here is a link, go take a look:

I would feed a majority of frozen foods for bulking. Mussels are a great option. Buy green mussels on the half shell from an Asian food market. Thanks for the plug, Kara Jo. My blog will get you an excellent start at bulking those new loaches up.
BTW, I am not claiming to be an expert. All posted material is in my experience.

best pic i could do right now there to hard to capture.
If tfd actully sent me a count of 50, than I should have about 45+ right now. I believe only 3 - 4 have died, and they all had sunk in stomachs.
there tank mates are , 1 sad datnoid all alone, and 4 Small Pbass

Congrats, at least 37 in the last pic! As far as oddballs go, the patterns they have when they are small are they patterns they will always have. Any that I have grown out from that size have remained the same. You might get the odd slight spot come through, but generally I've found them to stay the same as they mature.

Nice loaches! They look real happy to be in that tank:D

I moved them into a 45gallon tank, The lil fattys eat from my hand now, and wow they feel weird when they nip at your fingers. they wont stop clicking though.. thought I was going crazy.
Atleast 4 have died sence that first pic :(. I'm down to about 26ish if i had to guess. I will take them out and count them one day.
I found a lfs that sells them for 3.00$ at about 2-3" while mine are 1- 1.5". But I'm only getting the healthy fat loaches that I find :).
Hopefully, by the time they all grow out to 6" i'll have an easy 20+ to put into my 360gallon.

They may take a few years to achieve that size. The tank of clowns that I posted must be worth some serious coin. Consisting of some 70 odd clowns in a 240G or something larger.
