No...I don't want to buy any. It's just I'd love to see one in a public aquarium.
I know some setups have been mentioned on here. Any somewhat closer to VT?.

Atlanta is closer to VT than South America is. . . . the Georgia Aquarium has a couple.
Believe that I saw one at the aquarium in Baltimore...

The smithsonian museum has a webcam for some of their exhibits. You can catch streaming video of arapaima and large RTC on their amazonia webcam.

The osaka aquarium in Japan has an incredible display of HUGE amazon fish in a MASSIVE!! tank.
It has one gigas the size of a car! Its an incredibly beautiful specimen aswell (very red with shimmering silver). Its probably not accessible to most in this forum but i thought i'd mention it anyway... I'm going there again this december so ill take some photos...

The DC zoo has 3 very large pimas(about 7-9 feet) and a smaller one about 2 foot there. Not to mention they have breeding pair of Leopoldi rays. It's worth checking out!

I know we have a few in the DC National Zoo. They're about 5 feet long. However, my friend in Singapore says the ones in the aquarium over there are enormous, 0 feet.

yeah, I saw that just now. I guess you could take it as "They're so big you can't measure them. Eh, it was supposed to be 10 feet, but I can't really feel the keys that well with my frost bite. But anyways, they have the perfect environment to keep arapaimas outdoors, so there's no tank limit.
