I recently got a 4ft tank and currently I have a breeding pair of convicts and 1 blue acara in it.
For plants I have 2 Amazon Swords and 2 Wisteria.
The lighting at the moment is 2 35W Fluorescent at 6500K each.
I was wondering what other plants I can add to the tank without it dying or getting eaten by the fish. :1zhelp:

anubius is the best plant, look for the large barteri's the have HUGE leaves that give the fish some shade and they'll hang out underneath the plant instead of under some rock formation. its sour so they wont eat it also.

Make sure your plants are anchored securely. Certain cichlids like to dig.

At http://www.tropica.com/default.asp you can pic "species list"- "all plant"- "not eaten by herbivorous fish". But many cichlids like to dig- as Nelly says- so the best is those who grow at wood and rocks.

Ive seen a few tanks that are very well stocked with plants of different types. They sware that as long as you are on top of feeding, they usually will leave your plants alone. Just tie or weigh them down.

You should be safe with, like the above said, Anubias, Vallisneria sp. and also Java Ferns.
