This is a re-post from another forum. I asked a question in the wrong forum. So let's try it again.

I've just switched over to salt water tank (after having freshwater for 3 years) and my tank is very cloudy. It's a 46gal tank. I cleaned it out with hyd. peroxide and water then risned it out completely. Then I added water. Then.. at the right temp (about 75 degrees) I added the required amount of salt. The tank looked good. Once the salt appeared to be disolved I placed 40 pounds of Bio-Active Live Aragonite Reef-Sand and the water is now very cloudy. It has been this way for about 8 hours now. I thought it would have all settled by now. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Squidward

Patience grasshopper a algae or bacterial bloom would not be unusual. time a waterflow should cure it.

Thanks for the response. It has now been a day and a half since I put the live sand in and I'm finally seeing some clearing. I also bought some damsels and the whole fam is totally excited. I'll keep you posted!
