I would think no....you mean African Tiger Fish right?
I don't know how aggresive silver arowanas are, but when I had a 6" green asian, with a 4" ATF, all they did is attack each other. They were in a 125 gallon grow out tank. Each time I see missing scales from each other. I only stayed with it for about a week, and separated the asian aro. I don't keep asian aros anymore because it is illegal to have in U.S.

It will depend on tank size mostly. I have an ATF that would go for anything in a small tank but when put in a big tank it settled right down and did not bother anyone. It will also depend on the personality of that particular fish, you will only ever find out if you do decide to put them together.

If you get both together, and they get along just fine, then it's your loss and will never know. But, if they don't get along, will you still be able to return the fish or re-sell it?

Not to burst your bubble, but a 180 is nowhere near large enought to safely accommodate an ATF beyond 12". It will be a nervous wreck and be very frustrating to keep. Forget about tankmates, you'll need a bigger tank for the ATF alone. Trust me, I tried it several times and it ended the same way each time.

Majikterror, there is nothing wrong with asian aros except that they are endangered in the wild so got banned in the states, apparently even though the ones being sold overseas are captive bred that is not enough to get the ban lifted.

For a short period of time, I'd say yes. I did. :) For how long tho??... Depends on a lot of things?... size of ATF? size of others? temperment? etc.? :uhoh:
Now I'm not going to tell you what or what you can't do... but do keep in mind what Tigerfangs said in his post. GL in whatever you decide! ;)
