i do not know what type of filters they are or what kind of fish:thumbsup:

Sure you can always get rid of the fish for credit at your LFS and repalce the filters if they suck.

From what I've seen that's not an unusual price for a used tank where you're at, but:

Do you know the exact dimensions? It may be smaller or larger. I commonly see 125g advertised as 100g, but I also commonly see 90g or smaller advertised as the same, and even a couple of 55g.

Have you seen this tank? The stand may not even be a stand or be in bad shape, the tank may be in bad shape or even damaged (even if it's currently set up).

You don't know anything about the equipment or fish. The fish may be something you'll have trouble pawning off on a pet store (such as a large pacu) or something that won't really get you store credit, so they may not benefit you at all.
The filters could simply be powerheads and a UGF, or some really cheap worthless HOB. Again, something that doesn't necessarily benefit you at all, so their inclusion with the tank can be ignored.

Decor could be anything.

So all you know currently is that you have a possible tank+stand+top (and maybe lights, it wasn't mentioned) that is claimed to be 100g. It could be a good deal, or it could be a bust. I wouldn't commit myself until I had more info. Even if you gain all the info and you go over there and it isn't what you want don't be afraid to pass.

60inches long 18 inches wide she said.....nope havent seen the stand tank or anything so yea i am not saying that i will rush into buy the tank but i am saying that if i see that nothing is wrong with it than i will not pass this deal!!!And yeah she didnot mention lights so i am not sure.....thanks for the advice

Yea i had a lady try to sell me a 125 that she thought was a 100 gallon, then she called lfs and they of course told her to sell it for 500 "the rocks are worth 100" they told her, I should have pounced on it when I could have

$150 if everything is in good shape isn't a bad deal. Then again, if you're in socal it might not be a massively great deal or unusual deal either, so you could probably afford to keep looking if you miss it. Everyone I talk to from out there usually has no trouble getting cheap tanks around that size.

Obviously it's a better deal if the filters are nice or the fish are worth something.

Go for it before someone else does!!!!!

I just bought a 125g with sump, pump, stand, lights for $200.

Also got a 210g w/everything for $500 about a month ago.

Don't have fish in them yet.

If you don't then when you are looking for one you won't be able to find a nice cheap used one, at least that is how my luck is. I really didn't need these tanks but I got them anyway.

60 x 18 is the standard footprint for a 125 Tall. I live in the middle of Kansas, and if that deal were here i would snatch it up in a heartbeat. I am having a hell of a time looking for a 180 gal! Will probably have to pay 450-500 for a new one AND drive 2 and 1/2 hrs to pick it up!
