at mt local pet store there is a clown knife that is around 8 in but is in a 10 gallon tank. i dont have my 500 gallon ready for fish but my dad has a 90 gallon. in his tank he has two 8in tinfoil barbs, two bichirs and some small cichlids and catfish. do you think that i could by the knife and put it in the 90 gallon. i hate seeing a fish in such bad living conditions.plus there only selling it for 12 dollars, and yes it looks healthy.

it should be ok as long as they won't fit in his mouth, give the knife a pvc pipe to hide in 4 his own little "turf." as loners knifes are generally ok. some cause a lot of commotion at night tho so just keep an eye on it.

for tight now, 90gallons wil be a haven for it.
10gallons? i bet the clown knifefish is bigger than the tank!
but later on, you'll need a tank bigger then 230gallons...
but the 500gallons sounds nice! maybe some other predatory fish in it and ur all set!

2" per month...at least...
they get slower once they past 1'

get the knife. they are some of the coolest fish imo.

i got the knife and got another knife around 2in and two eclipse catfish around 5 in i think i got a good deal only 22 dollars for all 4 fish.

8" clown in a 10g tank, not bad... me and my friend Hawkeye picked up 2 clowns that were around 24" in length and were in a 55g tank... we got the fish and put them in a 115g tank... check out hawkeye's gallery to see the clowns, they are very beautiful fish...

I have a royal clown knife at 12" and he's pretty dosile keeps him self to him self not very active but boy is he agressive when it comes to feeding time !

2 clown knives will probably fight after getting past a foot in length
