I just picked up this little fella. It's an unidentified Panaque. He's not fully grown yet (according to the supplier) but he came in at a respectable 35 inches.

OH MAN!! That sounds like a new low-budget horror movie in the making. PANAQUE PANIC: Giant Panaques escape aquarium during a flood and claim more victims than the flood does. It takes armor piercing weapons to bring them down. Closing scene, after it's believed all the Panaques have been destroyed, is of a sunken barrel. The barrel is lined with thousands of Panaque eggs. Fade out to the eggs beginning to hatch.
I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Demille.
:D lol
btw that is a beautiful fish

Actually, that Acanthicus still has at least another foot to go before it's fully grown.

The Panaque is going in a 450gal with an air-injected bead filter rated for a 1200 gal tank. Before the coarse pre-filter is a pond leaf trap to catch the big chunks.
