i was just curious if two thai dats(5")an australian arowana (7") are able to live in a 55 gallon tank 48x12x18 their whole lives ?

In a word: No

They might be fine at the moment, but do some research and see how big these fish can get. In a little while you won't even be able to house a single one of these fish in that tank. Your going to have to upgrade your tank or sell your fish. Good luck ;)

Sorry no chance, if your tank is the demensions you gave then your tank isn't even a 55 gallon.

I believe your tank is 45 gallons, and datnoids can get up to 18" ( is the biggest i've seen in person.

the aro grows fast and will soon feel cramped in your tank. these fish do not grow according to the tank. they just keep growing! like red tail cats in a way. the dats will do fine for quite a while before an upgrade is necessary
