Blue Oscar's are painted (same way as those parrot fish) and the color will fade in a few months. You just over-paid for an abused fish.

i dont no the site anymore. But they take and infect the color with a needle at small size. make fish in long run live a shorter life, lower imune sytem and the color never ever stays l

That sort of "business" is truly sad! Injecting the fish with coloured fluid, that is!

Sounds like a dyed fish. I saw some pics online of bright red oscars - they looked absolutely plastic and horrible and lacked all the characteristics of the real oscar that make them such a fun fish to keep.
I hope you returned the fish and got a refund (and told the shop that you didn't appreciate being sold injected fish).

Thankfully i've yet to see any dyed oscars at any of my lfs
The site is Death by Dyeing (http://www.deathbydyeing.org/moreau.htm).
Sorry dude but them oscars are definitely dyed. If you can, return them and show people your not willing to support the dyeing of fish even though you didn't know.

Those red oscars are not dyed believe it or not. They are oscars achieved through selective breeding. There is a link on this site about them somewhere.... Would love to get my hands on them blood red oscars.
