Anybody had any experience with this bad boy?
Is it accurate? easy to read??
It says on the box it lasts for a year.

Here is seachem's website
ive done a bit of reading and from what ive read, the thing is best
at detecting rising ammonia levels than detecting current ammonia level
because rising ammonia takes 15 minutes to register but when ammonia
goes down , it can take as long as 4 hours for the decrease to register.
Still not a bad product IMO. I will buy one today if i get the chance.

I say it's all BS. I had a couple before. It read tank water perfect. when I checked the ammonia, it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay of the chart. I thought it might need replacing but I still get the same reading saying water is perfect.

Strange? It works for me.
For mature tank, it usually dont show much changes, only time I got a "purple" reading is when my tank crash due to feeder goldfish massive death.
Now i m using 2nd set(over here we get the whole set, no replacement tab).
Well ,its for convenient purposes, if u want accurate reading get those test kits. :D

i HAD 6 of these pieces of crap... sure they work, they are just not accurate and they expire after a few months
if you keep up with water changes and have a test kit... you dont need to waste money on this

No offence, do you care to explain, if its crap, why you got 6 pieces, usually ppl will buy 1 to test out, if its good, then will get more. Its strange to get 6 pieces and called them crap :wall:

People return them at work all the time.
There are one or two people that say they work great though.
I think one in 20 work.

I picked up one, one time. It displayed ammonia when ammonia was added, but then it never went back to 0-- ever. I put it in a cycled tank and it never went down. Days passed. Threw it out.
i waste $6 now on tetra feeders, not ****ty ammonia readers
