3/4 dose Quick Cure. I know most of you will recommend a half dose, but trust me, it rarely works. Often, the Ick continue to run rampant and reproduce. A 3/4 dose is not enough to kill the fish, but it is powerful enough to kill Ick. However, just know once scaleless fish pass a certain point, surviving is VERY rare.

Yep, its hard for clown loaches to defeat ich unfortunately:(

What is the temp in their tank?Try raising the temp to 80 and increase the aeration.Like the man said, clowns don't do well once they are infected.
Yeah I put the temp up to 85. I no i think i going to loose some

**** that...
I just got some 4-5 inch CL's in and threw them in with my amazon puffers, and of course the ****ers got ich after 4 days...
I dosed them with salt and kept the temp at about...82-84 and after 5 days it went away, and the amazon puffers got it but it also, but it cured them also...
My loaches also had it head to tail hardcore and it cleared up really fast, so it's VERY possible for it to cure it quickly.
Salt and heat work wonders.
Good Luck!
no ich cure!
hes got plants and stainable gravel
i told him salt AND keep the temp up
I going to get some salt this week when or if we go to waterbury

lots of salt, crank temp to upper 80s maybe even lower 90s and cover the tank. Darkness, salt, hot temp means ich die real fast. cured mine in about a day and a half.

my loaches just had it too. Rid-Ich+ at full strength , 88f temp with 1/4 water change everyday did the trick for me. Gone in 2 days. Make sure you up the oxygen too, heat and meds tend to use it up.

clown loaches can't tolerate salt well brudders. if y'all wanna add salt make sure its completely dissolved in a portion of water before pouring it in

GOOD GOD MAN!!!
i hope you had the water well aerated
ich cant be gon in two days thats impossible maybe the visible signs disapear but the parasite is still present
They will tolerate salt at treatment level but as ice-dragon pointed out dissolve the salt in some water first so you don't get brine pools. add it where the water enters from the filter so it mixes quickly. Also treat as soon as you can, the longer you wait the worse it gets and it can kill your fish from gill damage if it gets bad enough. Hiya Ice-dragon, welcome to MFK.

thanks...
I agree. 1tbsp/10g dissolved before you add it to the tank. When my CL came down with ich in my 220, I added almost 2 cups of salt. They had no more problems after that.

so salt and heat is the tricks...thx for the handy tips...i myself have 6 of Clown loach and i would hate myself to lose any of them..
With loaches stick to the salt. Even a half dose of quick cure can kill them.
i got ick once when i bought my loaches.. The LFS also got ick on all its loaches.. he said throw salt directly in the water. quite a lot of salt.. after reading on loaches.com i stuck with malachite green.. none of mine died... all 30 loaches at the LFS died :D
So be careful when dosing salt atleast... Don't toss salt directly in tank

non-sense
i measure it and dump it right into the tank
it disolves slowly rther than quickly
the best way to treat CL's with ich is 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons
and increase the temp to 87-89F
dont worry about the high temp, just keep the water well aerated, and they will be fine, when i treated my trio of clowns they seem so happy in the warm water.
last but not least treat for about 10 days and the ich should be gone.
well i dunno except 85 plus kills ich.. and that all 30 died at my LFS adding only salt... they didn't increase temp thou...

January 05 of tropical fish hobbyist said to turn the temp up to 90 degrees for 3 weeks and that should do it. I tried it when my loches got it and it work for me least. If you do that just make sure the water is well oxygenated.
Salt, o2 and heat. My clowns lived through it twice. This treatment may be hard on plants and snails if you have any. Forget the meds.
