i lost one of my aros :irked:

i sat staring at them for a few hours, all was well. i left to go to home depot, come back n didn't even notice one was missing, 3 hours later my friend ask's me "i thought u had 4 arowanas" then i start looking around to find my original arowana i've grown fro 3" to 20" completly dried and dead :(

he had the most red, and was my original arowana, it was my fault, but he was almost 2 years old. whata freakin horrible night

it was my fault, because i didn't duck tape the lids like i should have. aros can jump and i knew this, yet i didn't do it.

yah this guy was the runt of the group, he wouldn't touch pellets. super picky eater, but never took a dive. i can't imagine what he was thinking sitting on the floor like "what the heck did i do, i was in that huge tank, now im on the floor wondering why i can't breath"

silly fish, stupid mistake.

sorri for ur loss man... i had mine silver @ about 11" jumped out from a temp bucket while i was moving, da's like the worst feeling in the world to see it dry up on the floor.
da's why i'm not gonna have a silver again unless i have a freakin tall tank, like 40"-45" in height, and i'll only fill the tank half way...even then, i probably still have to shut the lid with heavy objects.
i wonder how the hell don't those silvers that live in ponds jump out...

my condolences. poor chap. they are very skittish and jump for no apparent reason at times. once my arow shot out of the tank just because my sister walked past the tank. i had the top a little ajar and it managed to shoot out. my sister and i heard the splash and saved it. i never left the top ajar again...

since the incident i've duck taped all my lids completly SHUT!

this will never happen again as it has never happened before but i guess even the best of us get it at times. thanks everyone for your support. i already have so much crap going on right now and for this to happen in the middle of it made me feel so crappy. if it was my only fish i think i would be affected way way more, but i have to push thru it because i own so many fish that i can't let this loss bring me down. i was and still am very sad to see him go tho.

again thanks everyone, my heart goes out to everyone who cares

Sorry I'm late in responding, so sorry. I know the big guy was really special to you. I'm glad you still have the other 3, but it hurts so much to find them like that. I've been there, most of us have. Nothing makes it better but time.
Peace Out-We Love You

Those we have held in our "arms" for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever-author unknown

kinda weird, all of the Aro lore, the fires, the synchronicity of the events of the fire, maybe he took one for you-it's the only thing that ever made me feel better when I lost my Gu Ka'an.
Do the other Aro's act different? (only answer if you want)

ethnics

meiling, i feel that the other aros are now sorta acting agressive kinda in a way. only towards eachother tho. not really, but there jus resetting the pecking order i guess. the one i lost was the one i owned the longest. so he had his spot in the lineup, but with him missing the other 3 were kinda like "huh?"

everything seeems good now tho, fu man seems to be spurting like a mad man still and is about to pass up my biggest which is way odd lol, he's the youngest aro in the tank. he is also attempting to set himself up as king of the pecking order. im sad for the loss, but the best thing i can do is care for what is still in the tank, which is what im doing. and im doing a super job at it :)

just give it time Kirk, the hurt does get better, it'll never feel the same, but you're the Aro King, I know you'll bounce back, everyone needs time to have closure and mourn. Pets are no different, especially for creatures so majestic as the beautiful Arowana.
My heart and prayers and with you, I guess I just feel a connection because you took Fu for me, it was obviously meant to be. He was born in the hands of the royal keepers of the Arowana's, he'll step up for you when you're ready.
God Bless-hang in there Mei
