View Full Version : My fav Tigrinius died!
Hi pal........
Last week, my favourite Tigrinius died at 14"..........she was okie in the morn but when i reached home after work. i realised something v wrong........her head region developed 02 high humps...............Has anyone come across the same symptom before?? this is the 2nd tig died in the way after developing the lump and gone within 24hours. :shakehead :headshake

sorry to hear... not sure what caused the lumps.
looks like a bacterial infection but im not sure...
a blood clot maybe? somethign to do with PH deffinately (genetic is ruled out as the other died too) its soemthing wrong in ur water

me too, have no idea where went wrong!!!
the 1st tig i had also had the same problem...............there is nothing wrong with the water perimeter.....my setup is running on sump filtration. Furthermore the rest of my fishes are okie.
when i discovered her with the lumps, i told myself she wont be able to pull thru tonight :shakehead before i went to bed, she seems to be okie.........just resting at one corner and no struggling at all................the next morn when i woke up, i was hopping that she is still there but.... :cry: :cry: :cry:
i have had her for a year........

sorry to hear about ur precious loss......i have 12" tig and would crap my pants if that happended to me.........not just the $$$ but damn hard fish to acquire
did u get tig from same place as the other tig who also died of same death?? did u feed same diet to other tig but not to other fish??
u search other forums to determind cause of lumps??

i have been a lover for catfishes since my fish hobby started and tigs are my all time favourite.........its not the $$ that i feel the pinch.........but its the lost of my precious tig :cry:
i have been feeding her with pure mp diet since she was 7".....both my tigs died without any superficial injury except the swollen lumps before death..........all my fishes are feed on market prawns....but for my tigs, they are on pure mp diet........
I did try to find out what causes their death...but nobody can advise me :shakehead
in the maintime, i will search for any baby........................

Have you been to Pet Provision lately. The last I was there Lester had two. 1 was already reserved and the other was still available. Size was between 2.5 to 3 ". Price was around S$ 400.00. It sure ain't cheap

tigs are the **** , have u tryed to keep jurenese? i find them to be even cooler and quite tolerant compared to tigs

i agreed with u. i have not tried one...but i like the colour combi of tig.........may try jurenese if i come across any decent pce....
i got a awkward patterned one (blotches) and a straight line one from anthonys tropical fish
the awkward is so awesome , he looks so different but the perfect one is the shizzle
