I'm no lungfish expert, but I think it's a Protopterus Annectens, or the West african lung.

And make sure it is easy for him to surface for air. If he is 30" it looks like he has quite a ways to go, and that will not be good in the long run.

This is my SAL that I bought from the aquarium store I used to work at. His full name is "Pneumichthys Imhotep", but I call him "Pneumy" for short.
He was just a teeny tiny worm baby when I first saw him, back in a nearly bare tank in an overlooked corner tank.
I set him up in the store with a better tank, with plants and driftwood, and started feeding him live and frozen worms.
Then he began to grow, and eventually I bought him. :D

He's currently in a 40 gallon breeder aquarium with some loaches and rasboras.
Once in a while the loaches try to 'play' with him, but in general they leave each other alone.
He's been growing slowly and is about 10 inches or so and is about 1.5 years old, I think.
He loves to eat shrimp pellets and bloodworms.

Very beautiful their Protopterus Annectens!!!
Soon put of my pictures! They are well rare to find here in Brazil, and Asians Arowana, the only Polypterus found here are the Senegalus, few people have other varieties
We are still in "phase of growth" one day reach that level of you!
