So I finally figured out by these pictures that I have a geophagus. Just not sure what type. It has a stripe on the eye. Are there a large variety of Geophagus with eye stripes?
As far as I know I wouldn't say a large variety, but there are a few I'm aware of: argyrostictus and taeniopareius are two. There are also a couple of Brazil types I'm aware of: Bahia red, iporangensis maybe-- some fish I've seen called iporangensis have it and some don't, makes me think some are misidentified or more than one fish is being called by that name.So I finally figured out by these pictures that I have a geophagus.
