I want the satisfaction of having real plants but I hate how slow a lot of them grow. I would like a plant that grows very fast to quickly give my tank that natural look. preferably a pond plant. Thanks.

I don't know if it's a pond plant but I have some bacopa and its grows and reproduces pretty fast.

20140618_153752.jpg HETERANTHERA ZOSTERIFOLIA is fastest growing plant that i have. But i was growing these in high tech set up. triming every 4 days xD It's realy insane grow rate. Here is one pic. I started with only 1 plant.20141019_142730.jpg

Who trim like that? :) (first pic)

Jungle valisneria. It's a pond plant. Looks really cool, no fert's needed.

I was looking at specifically fast growing plants and this is the list I came up with:

anarchis (elodea)
bacopa caroliniana (cabomba)
egeria densa (najas)
hornwort
limnophilia (ambulia)
myriophyllum
vallisneria americana
ceratopteris thalictroides (water sprite)
hygrophila corymbosa
hygrophila difformis
hygrophila polysperma
ludwigia
parrots feather
shimmersia rivularis
wisteria

duckweed is also quite fast, but perhaps will become too much of a good thing

Keep in mind I haven't grown these and the ideal conditions vary from plant to plant, so it's just a list from which I think one could select plants that they prefer.

Not all of these are available everywhere in the world and some may even be considered invasive species.

I apologize in advance for any mispellings.

This won't really help you but does answer your question perfectly.
Algae is the fastest growing and can reproduce MANY times per day per plant.
