Nice hrp. I picked up a male about 4-5 months and a small female about 2 months. They both paired up. First set of babies went okay. Had wigglers but I didn't pull them out in time. Then they spawned again a month later. Same result. Hopefully this time I'll take the wigglers out. Here's a pic of the male.

I can't seem to get babies. I dont know what is wrong everything else breeds in my tanks except the ones I want. Firemouths are no longer in this tank. Its is all HRP's and 2 Red Potted severum, l200, and a HRP x Nicaraguan hybrid.

This is my luecistic pair

Moved the pair into a new community and are really showing their aggression against larger fish and a spawning has already taken place.

Beautiful fish! I have some from Rapps and I love them. If you put them under a blue actinic light w/ black sand they look incredible. I moved mine to an aquarium w/ white sand and lights to bring out reds and yellows in fish and they look faded out now.
I've found that the size difference b/w male and female is greater than in a regular convict. And if you put them in a tank by themselves to keep the spawn, the male can really wear her out. They are not as bad as Sajicas, where the male wants it when he wants it, but pretty close. Be careful if they are alone as I currently have my best female recovering in another tank.
