I honestly did keep them for 2 semesters in a 10 gallon, they probably didn't get fed enough and a proper diet... I was a dumb college kid back then and 10 gallon was the max they allowed in the dorms.

I recently purchased a Fluval FX5 for my first canister filter, I saw tons of good reviews for it online. Any suggestions for how to set up this canister filter and the 3 baskets. I saw in another thread a lot of people recommending a shower mesh and just to do the biorbs?

I've been doing cichlid gold every day and a few times a week beef heart. I'm already looking at craigslist for a bigger tank, looks like I could get a 180 for $300 - $500.

I'm curious also what kind of pellets are you talking about, I am looking into getting some 1" piranhas to raise but being that small I am not sure what to feed them.

If it's wait staff ~20% unless they do a really bad job, then it's just a couple bucks (but I mean REALLY bad job). Bartenders I usually tip more on how many drinks unless I get something to eat at the bar.

Any particular filter you guys recommend for a 150 - 200 tank? It seems a lot of people love the Fluval FX5 but I don't have experience with canister filters yet.
