so I made the jump to saltwater today. I have a bunch of freshwater tanks. won a 5 gallon marineland contour in a raffle at a LFS. got sand, live rock, and water. loving it already. its like I get to start all over and learn a bunch of new stuff. any tips for a new salt keeper? I would like to make it a nano reef tank which I would need a light upgrade correct?

Yes you would have to upgrade light, I personally don't know about light fixtures for nano tanks but will see if others chime in. The right light spectrums is necessary if you want to support coraline algae etc. on your live rock.

Good reading on wet web, but I urge you to reconsider your first marine tank being a pico. Incredibly hard to keep a small volume stable while you are learning.
