It also depends on sex of both fish. You can't forget about that with flowerhorns as the females, IME, are a little more tolerant. But just to be safe... buy an oscar that is larger by about 2 inches. This keeps them in check... or at least it does with me. Flowerhorns can hold their own against most other cichlids. Good luck.
