The writing in this bill strove to ban all non-native species from sale and ownership in the US. This bill was intended to lead to the ban of all tropical fish from the US as a method of preventing invasives of any kind.

I don't see why everyone is so happy now. HR 669 has been dead for over a year now and hasen't become any more dead recently or anything. So this post is relatively meaningless infact im surprised by the fact this forum was kept at all.

In actuality, the bill was under Committee review where the Committee was reported to be still selecting members as recently as June 27, 2010 (the last update report of the Bill). While there hasn't been any progression in the Bill's status, the fact that it was still on somebody's desk meant that there yet remained a risk in it's interest picking up.

What a ridiculous bill in the first place though, it would have destroyed the pet industry COMPLETELY. Like it would've saved the environment anyway lol.
