My Aro attacked!!!!

Darn it! I had the first warning and did not remove the Delhizi and look at the results! Pissed off now at myself! Delhizi mangled my Aro's tail. Does anybody know if it can be saved? If so, should I hospitalize it and treat him?

Looks like just a mangled fin to me, so clean water, food, and watching out for infections should be enough.

Some people advocate for pre-emptive antibiotics or aquarium salt. Personally I think that they are stressful to the fish, and clean water is better to start with, and only use them if there is an infection setts in.

Yes remove the fish. This is the second time the poly has attacked the aro, so move it. I advocate the use of salt in every application because not only is it good for osmoregulation in general, it helps to at least stave off infection and allows cuts and scrapes to heal a little easier.

Salt allows for better osmoregulation in freshwater fish, its a generally good idea to keep a little salinity in your tanks.
