Yes. They have been documented here at least since the '60s. I live about two miles from probably the largest population in Florida. They are a lot smaller than I was expecting. Other than Bahama anoles and Mediterranean geckos they are the only invasive herps that I know of in my area.
Interesting that they are considered invasives,I wonder how they came ti be there in the first place...I wanted ti keep one when I was a kid until I learned that they almist exclusively eat ants.
From what Ive read, some people argue that they are not really invasive After all we are probably closer to their natural range than we are to South Florida! lol And one thing we have a LOT around here is ants!
