I am moving and can not bring my 14-20 24"+ grade koi with me. I got them two years ago at 7-12" for $50 a peice. I have about 4 or 6 butterfly's and a few shonuka?( the red and white pattern, big females).

So, how much should I sell them for(general estimate) and where should I place an add?

Thanks

i would say they are worth atleast $200 a peice but that does not mean you can sell them for that. contact your lfs and pond places or just an ad in the paper. a pond instalation place would know people looking for koi that large as they are not as common as smaller ones

Depends on breed and quality. You could pay thousands if you want to.

Yeah, Americans don't care about these things as much as the Japanese.

If I was to sell my koi with the house then I could easily get 500 a peice. It all depends on the buyer. I'm going to probably list them at 200 a peice.

I wish I could have a Koi pond, they are beautiful. When I first started keeping fish, the guy at walmart told me it was OK to keep Koi in a ten gallon. I raised it in there to 6" before sellling it to lfs for 4 times what I paid. I'm glad walmart doesnt sell very many fish.

The pond is my favorite aquarium due to the fact that it holds 2600 gallons of water :D

The only drawback my pond has is that it is in a vertical position to the sun and has minimal shade.

The koi I have are worth a lot but their are koi that run $2k+ that are only 2' in lenght.

My koi are at breeding size so I would definatley have a bunch of little koi swimming around this spring. :)
