Hello,

I've been planning on getting a baby south american lungfish for a while now, but I'm not exactly sure on how to take care of these guys when they are young. Do I need to do anything special like keep them in a really shallow tank?

Thank you

they are pretty easy. I would keep him alone initially if possible. Mine came in at about 3 inches. I had him a 26 cube by himself. He probably put on an inch to two inches a month initially. He would eat frozen and freeze dried foods. Also once he gained some size he would take pellets. Also a lot of people get freaked out since baby SAL like to float so have something for him to hangout in.

Thank you for your response. The lungfish doesn't have any problems with reaching the top for air? What would you recommend for me to float for the lungfish?

I would use some real or fake floating plants
