Not a surprise. Other parts of the world have bullsharks more than a hundred miles inland and they are constantly there.
There have been reports of sightings way up the Mississippi in Illinois and even in Minnesota. I don't know if they have been confirmed or not but interesting stuff. In the floods of 2012 we also had a seal get out from the zoo and was apparently making a break for Lake Superior. That would have made for an interesting sight on the big lake.
