Looks like you are doing good enough for your tree Pops.

this is up to you I would think, this is the point of a bonzie? I love growing roses, at one point had 76 roses. depending how I sniped and pruned decided which way they where going to branch out and bloom. I do not suggest growing a rose garden unless you into roses. very very time consuming. and bleeding is a must.

I think same for a bonzei, but on a much slower scale. patience grass hopper.

I've spotted a few red maple saplings in my yard that I may take on as a project.

I cant figure out Roses. I have 4. 2 planted which grow crazy fast, and 2 potted that are slowly dying :(

Took some time to re-pot one of the Bougainvillea today. A couple of branches and roots were trimmed off during the process.

a few? you're lucky, this has been a bumper crop for maple seeds this year. I've been pulling up 30-50 seedlings a week for the last month or so. and that's just in my fern bed, 6'x3'.

anyone used Brussel's Bonsai Professional Blend Soil?

LMAO!! Great picture! I immediately recognized those flowers, I bought one months ago cheap from Home Depot and it's been wasting away in my yard! :D Recently things kinda went haywire for me awhile and I couldn't put any time into anything but a few priorities. So I have another bonsai!!!

Well I probably cut down a lot of them with my regular mowing and use of my weed wacker.I have a big red maple in my front yard that is likely the source for most of them.

never had roses in a pot, seems getting root bound and over watering be an issue.
