Poly Tail Problem

So I've had this lap for probably 5-6 months. Its tail has always been split and I was told by a few member that it would grow back (i dont really care if it does, gives it more character). Recently Ive noticed what looks like a bone sticking out by its tail, its a little hard to tell in pictures i tried the best I could. Is this harmful in any way? Im a little worried about him/her. He/she also hasnt grown at all in the time ive had it. Before i bought it it had been at the lfs for a good 5 months. It eats at every feeding but does have trouble "sucking" its food in. It eats tilapia, salmon and massivore. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hmm it it doesn't ever grow back? That's odd I had some wit tails like that always grew back .... As far as the hasn't grown since u had it goes .... No need to worry iv had several that never grew in length or girth had my Nigerian for a year it never grew lol .... If the lfs had it for a long time it may be stunted

I was thinking it may be stunted. Hes gotten a little thicker but thats it. Im not too worried if it groes back really, its just the lump thing im worried about lol

Could it be aggression from another poly ? When i first got my del i stupidly put it iny argentea tank. 10 min later half it tail was gone and bones were sticking out

I've seen this before. It when the tail gets bit, ripped, etc... So far down the tail that it doesn't grow back together. Shouldn't affect the quality of life or anything, but nah just be displeasing to the eye. It might've looked like it wouldn't grown back and most times it does look like it'll grow back, but sometimes it just doesn't grow back together.

It really doesnt bother me too much, so im not gonna worry about it. Do you guys see his tailbone type thing sticking out? Maybe im just overly worried lol.
