Really? More than likely missed or went through then came back of something else, I highly doubt they are bullet proof!-)

I guess it coulda been a fluke. Maybe it was a bullet with the wrong amount of gun powder? Idk..

More likely got between the shell and underlying soft tissue and was guided around the turn back to the shooter. Anything within 20 or 30 degrees of perpendicular (even a .22 gauge) would have penetrated easily. One real lucky armadillo there. Still would have a nasty wound to heal, but he'll live.
