Students didn't saturate the first layer of fibreglass
so grinding back a few doors and doing patchwork before second layer is applied
very ichy stuff so wearing a full disposable overall each time I do this

I don't know if it's considered DIY when you have a team of indentured servants!! that's great! can u send them and a few AULs state side for a while? I can take them to an amusement park for good behavior. great work though, i'll be following

students provided poor workmanship
so have sacked them all - well given them other tasks to do with Marine Studies subject i teach them

now need to start to grind back areas that were not saturated enough and do a patch before applying final layer of clothe and resin

then I can apply the black flow coat to add before lots of sanding to finish off fiber glassing part of construction

been very busy with paperwork at school lately and thus no time for this work
but will provide some updates and new images soon as almost on top of paperwork

Have you considered filtering this with an aquaponics setup? They are quite popular in Oz from what I've been told. In fact I've learned most of what I know from their experience.

back at it after a few weeks doing other stuff
started the grinding back of not totally saturated fiberglass
tonight it feels like every pore in my skin has a fine needle in it
even though I dressed up for the occasion

next is a couple of layers on corners inside and outside and the same on the main slabs of ply
then a black flow coat
3 tanks are being worked on
hope to have the fibre glass work done by end of school holidays in four weeks
updates to follow - a bit more regularly I hope

Been doing more work
Finished two layers on outside
Ground back with angle grinder and a diamond disc blade, bad internal corners created by inexperienced and inattentive school students I teach
To avoid issue again, put some 'builders bog' (two pack filler) in every join so chopped matt sits better - and thus avoiding air pockets

Next sand surfaces and do two layers inside
Then flow coat turn glass
Water test
Then filter system
Then fish - not long now

Looking good, I love Aust, native tanks. You should get some Salmontail cats in there would look great and fit the bill pretty well. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
