I've just bought an 8" aro and i'm having trouble getting it to eat.. Tried pellets, bloodworm and prawns and it won't touch anything, had it 5 days now. Should I be worried yet? Anything else to try? The tank is dimly lit and water conditions are fine.

What was it eating before you got it?

The seller told me it was feeding on prawns and pellets but I could only take his word for it as it had already been spooked by him chasing it around the tank by the time I got there.

5 days without food meant nothing to a silver Aros, if you want it on market prawn or pellets then keep trying with that type of foods, take it out after 10 minutes and redo next day. Your silver can go without food for weeks or a month, it will eat eventually and won't starve itself to death.

Hikari food sticks & live crickets have always worked for me, they can be fussy, but it will come around as per Yuki^^^

When i picked up my Black it did the same thing it didn't eat anything for over 2 weeks. Now it will eat it all :) Give it some time to get used to the new environments I'm sure it will come around.
