Has anyone had experience with the following:

I would like to keep some Uaru with my SAL.
Want to continue with the South American theme in my tank.

But I have read that Uaru have been known to strip the skin off a SAL.
Is there any truth in this?

I guess that would be a "avoid the Uaru" if it's the best opinion you have to base it off. You could try, but keep a close eye and be prepared to get rid of one. Depends how much you like the SAL if you're willing to risk it or not.

Once any fish gets a taste for the lungfish its over. I've kept SAL's with vieja for months and no issue until that one day they got the taste for them. Ended up selling all 3 of them at 3 feet each. Sad day.

Did you havbe the 3 SAL in 1 tank?
How big was your tank?

My SAL is with
Severum
Angels
Geophagus

So far all seems to be ok so far. But will have to keep an eye

For the most part. They just kinda had screaming matches. Like no jaw locking or biting just open mouths and pushing. I believed those two to be males and the other female who never had aggression. Also the two males had their vents on the same side and the female her vent on the opposite.
