I have over 30 of these 450s since shutting down the MS hatchery. Figured I'd play a bit with them instead of leaving them all stacked in storage. We may set up another one since my wife wants to cultivate some water lotus. There's not enough room in the current pond for that.

We bought some seeds of the giant amazonian water lotus/lily and are contemplating setting up the 5kgal koi pool to grow one out. Just because we've never done so before.

nice bloom on all your lilies!
on the giant victorian seed: it would take you at least 2-3 years for the Vitorian to grow and have first bloom, and it is very hard for seeded plant to survive its' first winter. I know they can be quite expensive to buy ready to bloom plant but that would be a better choice. IMO, for flower, giant victorian is not a good water lily as the flower is relatively small with too big of leaf pads compare to other water lilies that have same size flower. But it is an impressive plant to have just make sure they are not illegal like in Texas.
BTW, here are some of my first blooms

Nice blooms you have there. I hope my wife doesn't see them since they're her preferred colors.

Have a few update pics:

Another mutation bloomed for us this week.

Looks like this bud will yield a split-colored flower as well. Will find out some time this week.

Pretty soon, I'm going to have to post "No Loitering" signs in the pond.

Here's the pond security system. This spider pitched his tent by the side of the pond last night.

Will that spider eat the small frogs?
