Im new to dats, this is my first dat. It was sold to me as a golden indo. He/she seems to be pretty stable but like i said I'm new to these guys and could be wrong. His stripes aren't perfectly symmetrical but I think he's awesome. Any help.to get an id would be greatly appreciated. He's about 8"20150830_152630.jpg 20150830_152724.jpg

After looking at the id sticky I'd definitely say this guy is an indo tiger. Wish i had the cash to go grab a couple more. Theu have a good deal on these guys right now.

This guy is a 3/4 bar, ill try to get a pic of the 3 bar side up later. Would this be considered an odd bar? Or asymmetrical 4 bar, I'm not sure how that classification works.

Here's some pics of his second day in this tank. He seems very stable. Colors look great. He moves around more often than imagined. He's kinda hard to get a good shot of. You can see his 3 bar side in these pics, at first i didn't like that he wasn't symmetrical but it has grown on me. He's probably my favorite fish in this tank now. 20150831_215852.jpg 20150831_215834.jpg 20150831_215517.jpg

He is housed with 4x 5-8" mono or ocell pbass(one is actually a for sure hybrid), 2x Florida gar 10" and 16", 1x venezuelan pike cichlid 8" and 1x watermelon panaque 5". I thought for sure the pike and bass would stress him out at first but they seem great together so far.

Is 86 degrees to warm for my datnoid? I keep the tank warm for my young bass. Let me know if i should drop the temp some. I don't want my dat suffering

Yes it's a Indo and I'd call it oddball since bars aren't symmetrical. 86 is ok but the hotter the water gets I make sure you have a lot of aeration going. I've had dats from 70-93degrees I'd say and seem to be fine with plenty of oxygen. Dropping temp to quick is what will shock them. Indos always look great first put into a new tank but it's hoping they keep that color and not turned dark brown or black is the key... That's still a mystery lol. Hope this helps you
