I catch crays to feed my snapping turtle and my daughter decided she wanted to keep one. We set him up a home and about 2 weeks later I was feeding him and noticed he never closed his left claw. He has molted twice since and still doesn't close. I hate that he can't use it, and I know they grow back. I was wondering if I could pull it off and it'd grow back normal, it doesn't seem to affect him at all, he catches fish and stuff.

Yeah I was hoping it would restore itself after molting, but he's molted twice since I noticed. Garlic lemon butter? After pulling, cover exposure with it? I don't think I'm going to pull it as it doesn't seem to bother him much if at all.

Yea we researched it and holy s... didn't realize there were so many types. I can't think off the top of my head what he is. Lol no not my turtle, I caught her in a fishing spot we go to, I grabbed her fro the canoe and pulled it in. My wife was saying I was an idiot lmfao took some pics and took her back to where I caught her and released her. I figure weight was close to 50 lbs
