I haven't really done much with my tank but here is a little update. All the sunfish were alive after a few months of having them. 3 of them were growing nicely and the rest remained small and colorless. After a few months the sunfish started to disappear 1 by 1. It was all the small ones disappearing, but the ones that were growing did and is still doing great. With no plants and the fish being noticeable size,I don't have to spend 20 minutes looking for them. I am now left with 3 sunfish. I think they are 2 pumpkin seeds and a blue gill.
I added a couple of brown crayfish a few months ago, which are doing good. The axolotls haven't been seen since the day I added them. My dad added a goldfish which I am not to happy about, but he really likes it and always asks me about it so there is not much I can do.
My catfish ate all my plants, so I came to the realization that I will not be having a planted tank. I still throw a handful of elodea in the tank so they can have something to munch on.
Since I do not have a planted tank I decided to play around with my lights a little. The LEDs were just to bright. I switched them with 2 t5's, I like the dimmer look. I need to get new bulbs for them. I was thinking of a 50/50 bulb and a Red Sea pink bulb. The t5's are only 4ft long and the tank is 7ft. Let me know which one you like best.
All LED's
Both t5's in the middle, leaving the edges dark.
T5's on both ends with slight overlapping in the middle.
