In my 240 i would like to sue black sand. However I have read things I do not like about some black sands that are "budget" friendly. I was looking at maybe doing white sand/play sand. My question is with a black background how bad will white sand wash out the color of my fish?

Hello; I have used light colored sand that was darker than white and the fish colors were quite washed out. I bought some black gravel back in the 70's and used it. The colors of the fish were nice and bold.

Ok so basically if I want the best colors out of my fish I should just splurge and buy the known aquarium safe black sand.
