In my option i like tank bred channas way better then the wild specimens I've kept in the past. For one thing it seems to me that the channa from the wild are very shy and skittish at first, and also it makes me feel better that the tank bred fish has never know the true meaning of freedom. As far as color i really can't tell that big of a difference from wild to tank. But once again let me know what the experts think?

Channa arnt bred too often in captivity and most sold are wc . Because of this rarity if you come across captive bred ones they are most likly going to be F1 from wild caught parents so assuming proper care there shouldn't be any physical diffrence from WC specimens

. Being captive bred also eliminates the risks of acclimation, parasites or infections plus they are going to be accustomed to tank life.

For all those reasons I'd say that with channa captive bred (if available) is the better option .
