If u have 12 they should be solely focused on each other. I only have 5 and all they do is chase each other 24/7. Never bother my gouramis. If u had only one then it would definitely be a problem.

I've been debating adding my male convict to my tank with tiger barbs, if it goes well I'll let you know OP lol.

ehh does your convict charge your tigers?

My old male didn't bother them, but always a toss up with cichlids...

Nah he ignores them. They're real jerks to each other though. I think they actually nip at the convict. His fins are always kind of frayed.

Maybe i will give a gourami a shot. I can always move it to my 55 if it doesnt work out

I have mine with Geophagus brasiliensis, a Gymnogeophagus balzanii and a EB Acara, but there'ss other dithers besides the Tiger barbs (danios, mollies, platys, guppies,etc.) and bottoms feeders
