There is a new trend to build a natural swimming pool out of a old swimming pool. A natural swimming pool is a swimming pool that is pond like in that it is cleaned by natural plants gravel and aeration but the water in it is kept to swimming quality.

I personally won't mind trying something like this in that I only have less then a half a dozen fish and only plan on keeping less then a dozen fish when I get my own place. Besides most swimming pools are only used 5% to 10% of the time they are sitting there.

My master plan would have me adding a large set of viewing windows to the side of the swimming pool making it into a giant fish tank.

I almost bought a house 8 years ago that had a build in pool that the wife agreed I could use as a pond but we got screwed on the deal.

Later I bought an Index pool at a cheap price and set it up but it was the kind with the blow up rim which burned during the summer then cracked during the first cold spell.
