Saw this guy at the lfs today for $20. He was a little beat up from a previous tankmate but is in good overall health. I put him in a 75 gallon and he's doing great. I can't wait to see what he looks like healed up. He a legit 9-10 inches and as you can see, thick.

what a beast...he's so big it looks like he's turning into a guapote lol
I wish the "like" feature could be used multiple times for the same user just now when I read that....lol

Bro, he should have a harem of 5 just for living to get that big and battling all those years to survive. Get him some Shielas!!! Don't waste those giant-genes!!! Breed the hell outta that thing lol....well, don't over-work him, but get some clutches out of that monster. That's the start of a peddigree right there. I wish you were closer, I'd be putting down payments on a dozen of those babies. Fish like that are why JDs are in my top 3 favorites.

You should treat that fish like royalty LOL JDs make great wet-pets too

.....and yes, I would still put 3-5 F with him in a 75g as long as I was 100% sure they are all F. My male bred with 4 of my 6 females in a 67.5g before I moved them into the 120g.

Unfortunately he killed my other larger male before I got to split them into 1M :3F harems.
