So buying a 7x2x2 tank and I need to decide what to stock it with. I currently have 3 tats that are about 10" and a Baft that's probably 7-8".. Schooling fish are fun but what else stays big enough that isn't tinfoil barbs or SDs? Who's got some suggestions?

What about some bottom dwellers like a Tigrinis?
Don't they get to around 30"? There's definitely some people with 2 footers so I wouldn't say a tig. Width would become a problem, he may even eat the others once there's a substantial size difference.
If you wanna try cats, do some that stay more in the 1-1.5' range. Like 4 line pim, ornate pim, sun cat etc. or doradids.

Steve I know you aren't a big fan of silver dollars due to them being skittish.....but the wide bars and thin bars I have arent that skittish.... I find regular spotteds a lot more skittish ....

I believe giraffe cats get even bigger unless you can find a dwarf species, but I'm not aware of them being readily available anywhere. Wide bars would make your tank look small once they get 1'+ since you'd have a school, but thinbars stay smaller so would be the better option. The cats I mentioned are said to school besides the 4-line pim and doradids. Maybe some others will give you some better options. What about yellow tail barracuda? Red tail would probably end up being eaten since they don't grow as big.
