Also does the E drain run dry or trickling water ?

Love to see pics of the plumbing in the overflow and some of the sump
Pic of the overflow. I decided to go with the herbie style after the tank was ordered, so ideally the E drain should be 1.5" to match the main drain. I could've used the 1" for the main, but wanted the added flow of the larger drain. So decided to take the risk of having a smaller E drain. If I had to do over, I'd have both drilled for 1.5".

Plumbing from overflow to the sump. If I was to do this over, I'd use a gate valve rather than a ball valve. This works, but I think the gate valve would be easier to fine tune the water level in the overflow. I try to keep the water to a very fine trickle through the E drain.20160213_082918.jpg

Moved the bio media over to add a small pump for the UV since the flow rate through the return pump is too high for this UV20160213_082513.jpg . If I didn't already have this UV, I would've bought a larger unit and put it in line with the return rather than adding another pump.

I have the flex hose glued to the bulkheads and union ball valve. I have a plastic hose clamp on the flex pipe attached to the connector on the pump. Then that flex pipe is glued to the pvc where they connect. I should have unions on the E drain and return line. Didn't have any at the house and got in a hurry to set it up. Will have to cut those pipes when the day comes to move it. Not a huge deal, but to be done RIGHT, they should be there. Live and learn I suppose.

Thx man. Last idiotic question for the day. Whee you glued the flex pipe to the pvc its the same cement that glues all the pvc plumbing together ?
